In 1940 cowboys competed in the first Sisters Rodeo tagged as “The Biggest Little Show in the World” in the small town of Sisters, Oregon.
On the second weekend in June each year, Sisters Rodeo has the highest purse in the nation and the second highest in the entire month.
In 1988, the Sisters Rodeo Association was accepted as a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association joining St. Paul and Pendleton in this highly sought after membership.
It is also a member of the Columbia River Circuit of rodeos throughout the Northwest and Northern California and was recognized as the Rodeo of the year in 2009.
It was an honor to volunteer and photograph the Sister’s Rodeo this year. I met so many amazing people and learnt more about the rodeo life.
